Every two years, the NIBIO Turfgrass Research Group invites turfgrass professionals to the International Turfgrass Field Day at Landvik Research Center. The purpose of this event is to share and discuss recent findings from our research projects over the past few years and to highlight international projects with particular relevance to Nordic conditions. Unlike previous field days, this year’s field day will take place on September 9, the day before the Norwegian Greenkeeper Associations annual tournament at Bjaavann GC, Kristiansand, allowing visitors to combine both events.
The main topic of the field day is sustainable water management in turfgrass. Our invited speaker, Dr. Chase Straw from Penn State University, USA, will provide insights on this highly relevant topic. Most importantly, participants will also have the opportunity to visit and discuss our ongoing field experiments.
During the field walk, participants will be divided into English- and Scandinavian speaking groups, thus allowing discussion in different languages.
For those arriving the day before on September 8, there will be an informal social dinner at Home Hotel Grimstad. The buffet dinner is included for hotel guests, while other participants are welcome to attend at their own cost.
